6 Secret Marketing Tools
Top goal for anybody with a business is growing traffic to your website. And at Digi Sparks we stay up to speed with the coolest marketing tools – so here’s 6 lesser known marketing tools to help drive more traffic to your site and better convert.
Have you ever spied on your ex on Facebook or Instagram? Well the first tool let’s you do that for business.
1) Albacross - Uncover Who’s Visited your Site
Really cool tool called Albacross. And it tells you the actual business that has visited your site.
Not only that, but also how long they were there, what pages they saw. I use it to see what pages they’ve visited and for how long – then find them on LinkedIn.
It's super easy to implement (just one line of code to add to your website), and boom instant leads. Best thing it’s free!
There is another paid level to uncover the contact details for the companies that have visited your site. But tool number 2 does that for you.
2) Clearbit Connect - Uncover Email Addresses
So you have uncovered which company visited your site, or you’ve been looking at local businesses that might be interested working with you. How do you find contacts within that business? Pretty easy right – LinkedIn. But you’d have to connect with that person and they may not have their work email on LinkedIn. So this great tool – Clearbit Connect does that for you.
It’s a free tool and works as a Gmail or Outlook extension. Once downloaded, all you have to do is type the company name and see the available contacts.
3) Sniply - Place an Ad on other Peoples’ Websites for Free!
Well that’s possible with this awesome tool called Sniply. You can add any call to action to any link you share. You can add a button to drive to your website, or a subscribe button or whatever – it’s super flexible.
But the real trick with this is remarketing. More than 90% of 1st time traffic won’t convert straight away. So retargeting website visitors is super important to push them to convert. And it’s better use of your spend. With Google Ads you can waste a lot of money reaching random people, especially if you do a bad job. One client of mine BEFORE they contacted me spent £20K and had no leads.
But if people have already interacted with your content, they already know of you. So with the Sniply platform, you can add a retargeting pixel and hit them up with Google, Facebook, Twitter or whatever ads.
4) Subscribers.com - Get people to come back to your site
So you’ve probably heard that email marketing is one of the most effective online marketing methods. But it’s super hard to get people to hand over their emails, especially since GDPR. So there’s a better way than email.
Have you ever been browsing the web, like when you're using your Chrome browser and you see this pop up notification in your browser? It may tell you to check out a sale, notify about a new blog post, or tell you it’s your friend’s birthday on FB. Those are all push notifications.
It'll get them to come back to your website, and drive you more traffic and more sales.
It’s less invasive than email and way easier to subscribe, and best of all, it's 100% free.
So these tools were about converting traffic, how about growing traffic. These next tools are great if you’re a startup or new product.
5) Instaaa - Instantly Launch to 1,000s of Media Outlets
So if you’re a new startup, you’re probably not going to have big company reviews on your site. How do you get across that sense of trust? The next best thing is to have ‘As featured on’ with a bunch of big media company logos like techcrunch, forbes, wired, etc.
This tool called Instantly lets you do that. Fill in simple form, they then create a Press Release and fire that out to hundreds of big media sites.
The only caveat is that you’re not guaranteed coverage in those media sites, but that’s the same as using any PR agency or doing it yourself. As it starts from as little as £50, it’s way more cost effective and a better use of your time to focus on your product.
6) Viral Loops - Get other people to share your product
The final tool is all about referral marketing - getting other people to drive traffic to your site. With this tool you can do just that. Get your customers or user base to do the heavy lifting. It lets you run a ‘template referral marketing solution’.
It could be for anything, to run your loyalty scheme, to give your customers 2 months free for a sign up, or give something away for free in exchange for their email. Once you have those emails, it enables you to send follow up emails.
As an example, you might have heard of Harrys, a subscription service for shaving blades. They used Viral Loops to gain 100K emails in just one week.
This tool is powerful because you can be creative as you like, and run any kind of competition, re-use your old xmas presents and acquire new leads.
It can be really helpful to rejuvenate leads for more traditional businesses like accountants or solicitors, where people aren’t likely to shout about your services.
Most of these tools are free or cost very little, so it’s definitely worth giving them a go.
